What is a portfolio? A portfolio is a visual resume and catalogue of what the model can do, it is the most important tool a model uses for interviewing and getting jobs. A portfolio should generally contain shots which feature the model in the most positive way for the types of jobs he / she is trying to obtain. |

For most work, clients need to see what the models body looks like, full length shots is a must, shots in a fitted dress, leotard, swimsuit or lingerie, this will show the tone and figure of the model. Additional shots often include some 3/4 length (head to hips) in a variety of different clothing to show off looks from formal to casual wear.
How many photos in a portfolio? A portfolio normally contains 15 - 30 photos however, the key is Quality not quantity. A portfolio with 8 to10 great shots will always be better than a portfolio of 10 great shots and 10 Average shots never include bad shots to get your number of pages up “less Is More” Clients will always remember you by the worst image for this reason, the images in your portfolio should be as a high standard as possible, keep away from typical studio format.
